Depression can look like sadness, but often it feels like numbness, irritability, or exhaustion. You might be "functioning" on the outside—going to work, taking care of kids—while feeling empty or hopeless on the inside.

How we work with mood

We use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and systems work. This means we tackle the thoughts, the behaviors, and the environment.

Behavioral Activation

Depression tells you to wait until you "feel like" doing things. We flip the script: we do small, manageable things first, knowing that motivation often follows action.
  • Thought Records: Catching the "inner critic" and cognitive distortions
  • Routines: Stabilizing sleep, eating, and movement patterns
  • Values: Reconnecting with what brings you meaning, even in small ways
  • Bipolar Support: Tracking mood cycles and identifying triggers for mania/depression
